Occupational and Speech Therapy Mini Groups
The following groups are offered throughout the year at different intervals based on client need.  If you are interested in hearing more about any of the groups below or would like to sign up to be included in one of these excellent options call us!  We would be happy to share more information about these wonderful opportunities.

Happy Hands
This group focuses on new and fun ways to promote correct grasp patterns and improve fine motor skills. This group is ideal for children who have trouble with writing tools and hand skills as well as those who need an extra boost in writing.

  • 18 mos. to 3 yrs; 1 hr/week for 4 weeks
  • 3 yrs to 6 yrs; 1 hr/wk for 4 weeks
  • 6 yrs to 11 yrs; 1 hr/wk for 4 weeks
  • 6 yrs to 11 yrs; 2 times/wk for 4 weeks

It Takes 2
Come play with your kids! A group for children to attend with their parents. Focus of the group is to promote speech and language skills, socialization, and play skills as well as teach parents to facilitate language and communication skills for their children.

  • 18 months to 3 years 1 hr/wk for 6 weeks

Buddy Bunch
Making friends and fitting in with peers is an important part of childhood. This fun group focuses on social skills and cover topics such as; conversational skills, cooperative play and self regulation.

  • 4 yrs and above; 1 hr/wk for 8 weeks
  • Age groups will be divided depending on age and skill level

Crafty Kids
Messy projects, paper mache, and modeling mixtures, will expose kids to unique tactile experiences and sensory exploration. Through creative art, the group will teach pre-writing, cutting and basic fine motor skills at the comfort level and developmental ability of each individual.

  • 18 mos. To 3 yrs; 1hr/week for 4 weeks
  • 3—6 yrs; 1 hr/week for 4 weeks

Augmentative Communication
PECS, AAC, and Communication devices are all welcome in this social skills group. Participants will learn to use their augmentative language tools to interact with their peers during age appropriate play activities and community outings.

  • Placement in group depends on age and skill 2 hours per week for 4 weeks

Fun With Food
Problem Eaters/Feeders will benefit from this sensory based approach. The group is designed to increase a child’s comfort level with a variety of foods and progress to experimenting with different textures. If your child refuses to try new food, has a limited diet, is picky about brands or containers or has stopped eating foods they previously ate, this group is for you.

  • 18 mos. to 3 years; 1 hr/week for 8 weeks

Printing Pals
Not your typical sit down and write program! This program offers assistance to children who struggle with handwriting. Printing will be taught using the First Strokes Curriculum, which emphasizes involving your whole body in the writing process.

  • Kids beginning 1st or 2nd grade 1 times/wk for 4 weeks

Learn Cursive
The First Strokes program will be used to help your child learn cursive and/or correct their cursive errors.

  • Grades 3 and higher

Handwriting Help
Is your child's writing illegible? This remedial class is designed to help kids who have illegible handwriting or difficulty writing. Printing is reviewed using the First Strokes Program. Children are taught to recognize common handwriting errors and progress through a series of exercises to correct their own errors.

  • Grades 3 and higher 1 times/wk for 4 weeks

Academic Tutoring Mini Groups
Keep your child’s school skills sharp through the summer! Tutoring by certified teachers is available in all grade levels and subjects. These mini groups are a cost effective way to maintain and/or learn new skills for success in school.
